Table and Stool Unite in Pearson & Lloyd’s “Polar”

I believe it; this Polar Stool / Table certainly offers us a glimpse beyond. Beyond the same old cafe furniture, that is. I don’t think I’ve ever seen something quite so interesting or so versatile at the eateries I frequently patronize. Even contemporary bar furniture would be hard pressed to be this visionary.

Called a “universal piece of furniture”, the Polar can be used as a seat or as a small table. You can even tip it over so that the base becomes the surface. This is pretty neat, and I think the young (and the young at heart) would have a good time figuring out how many weird arrangements they could make from a set of Polars. They might not make good cover for games of hide-and-seek, but they do have a pretty cool peephole to allow you to spy on your enemies during such a game.

The Polar was inspired by fluid and organic forms. I think it would be quite fetching in a modern outdoor setting or reception area. Its dimensions are 43cm high, 41cm deep, and 49cm long. The cut out in the middle gives the Polar a really artistic touch. It looks very modern, and would be great in art galleries or trendy coffee houses with plenty of books or figurines to display. With the right lighting, the Polar could even look elegant.
