No Frills Seating: Marco Maran’s Bla Bla Bla

You know those computer simulation games where you control little people and decorate their houses and shops? I’ll confess that I love those games because of the decorating. They have the cutest little chairs and tables in all price ranges.

The Bla Bla Bla series by Marco Maran reminds me of the chairs you can buy when you’re first starting out in one of those games. That’s not meant as an insult, really; the chairs that are available at the beginning are plain and serviceable – two attributes that don’t necessarily make for bad furniture, especially commercial grade.

bla-bla-bla.jpgThe Bla Bla Bla’s name says it all. These chairs are meant to be sold in redundant multi-seater sets. They would do fine in walk-in stores where customers aren’t expected to wait for very long. They’d make great nail bar furniture, since they don’t take up a lot of space. The white multi-seaters look classic, but they also come in lots of lovely colors to match trendy decors. Something with patterns and bright hues, like an art deco area rug, would really set these off.

The Bla Bla Bla four-seater’s specifications are: Seat height, 45cm; arm height, 62cm; width, 249cm; depth, 60cm; height, 77cm; and weight, 32.5kg. These are lightweight seating units designed to make the most of small reception areas. The four-seat unit is pictured above, but the Bla Bla Bla also comes in single seats, two-seaters, and three-seaters to meet any shop owner’s needs.

With a little creativity and some good accent pieces, these seats wouldn’t look quite so Spartan. I wouldn’t recommend them for places where maximum comfort and roomy seats are needed, but they would work just fine in many places. Easy to care for, and versatile.
