Revolutionary Living Room Furniture

The furniture in the living room has just as much of a role as you do in sending a welcome message to your guests. But then, what kind of furniture would send the best message to your guests? What kind of furniture would bring them comfort, as well as style? The answer lies in contemporary living room furniture. Contemporary living room furniture gives people a sense of comfort but still retains a stylishness that simply speaks of the owner’s great taste.

But what really defines contemporary furniture? What sets it apart from the furniture that our ancestors once used? You may think antique furniture also looks great but it doesn’t give your living room that interesting look that’s sure to captivate your guests. With contemporary living room furniture, you can go crazy and just let your creative juices flow. You wouldn’t have to stick to those boring shapes of old like squares and circles and rectangles. You can choose an irregular shape for your sofa like S’s, oblongs, kidneys, you can even choose a shapeless blob, and nobody would accuse you of being tasteless. Contemporary furniture allows you to choose between symmetry or asymmetry, or somewhere in between. You can even choose different fabrics for your chairs… vinyl, cotton, or velvet, anything that tickles your fancy. Colors can range from drab gray to electric blue to shocking pink, anything could look good, and you won’t have to stick with the boring browns and whites of most antique furniture. It truly is impossible to go wrong with contemporary living room furniture. Keep reading →

Pink Furniture For Girls

?Think Pink? with Wishrooms? fabulous collection of pink furniture sets. Anything pink has become one of the most popular trends in decorating girl?s rooms. Two of the best selling lines are the Tea Party Collection and the Fancy Butterfly Collection.

The Pink Tea Party Collection includes a table and chair set (where else do you put the tea and crumpets), extra chairs for friends, rocking chair, bookshelves, and even a miniature kitchen. The design has a quaint, countryside charm to it: a soft pastel pink and white combination, and a ?time for tea? design accented by delicate flower and a flowing ribbon. For example, the rocking chair has a teapot and teacups painted on its back. The chair is rimmed with pink and white stripes, while the bookshelf has two layers to store storybooks, dolls, or an array of plastic cups and saucers for the next high tea with the Queen.

The Tea Party collection also has a darling refrigerator. The surface of the front door is magnetic, and can also be used as a bulletin board. Just use a whiteboard marker, and then dry-erase when necessary. It?s not only useful (there are freezer and refrigerator areas where kids can store snacks) but makes a charming additional to any girl?s kitchen. The handles are a cute purple, while the subtle frame design is eye bragging without being difficult to pair with other items. Of course, it?s easier to equip the entire nursery in the Tea Party theme.

Chairs - History Part I

In this first of a multi part series we’re going to discuss the history of the chair. Yes, they do have a history and didn’t just pop out of nowhere.

Chairs are the ultimate in antiquity. And for many thousands of years chairs were not simply a device for people to sit on while eating or reading. Chairs were an article of state and dignity, used by only the wealthiest and most powerful and not simply an article of ordinary use. Not everyone had chairs. Certainly not like some of the greatest chairs to have ever adorned our world.

Even today, the chair is still used as an emblem of authority in many government buildings all over the world and also at public meetings. Actually, it wasn’t until the 16th century that chairs became common place. Until the chair did become common most people sat on chests, benches and stools. The number of chairs that have survived from early days are very few. That is why they are such an antiquity and worth a lot of money in any kind of condition. Keep reading →

Wicker Sunroom Furniture: The Basics

The thought of wicker furniture brings forth sensations of ‘getting away’ and relaxation. Strong. durable and lightweight. there is no better material for creating an outdoor ambience than wicker.

Eventually. the methods for making tools. baskets and other items used during this period then morphed through the centuries into today’s beautiful wicker sunroom furniture. Keep reading →

Plastic Adirondack Chairs - There Are Advantages

Truthfully, no one wants to be hosting a barbeque or outdoor gathering with a bunch of cheap and gaudy lawn furniture adorning the yard. Not only is this smack of desperation or some pathological ?penny-pinching? only a streak but cheap lawn or deck furniture can literally make the entire exterior of your beautiful home seem trite or even comical. Still, there simply is not always room in the budget for some premium teak outdoor furniture and?well, guests need to sit somewhere! While quality-made plastic Adirondack chairs may seem like an oxymoron, you may be surprised at just how well these stately pieces of lawn furniture can actually ADD value to your home and impress friends and family alike.

Most of us are aware that Adirondack chairs are typically made from woods such as cedar or pine which is part of the reason why they make such excellent choices for decks, patios, and other exterior areas. The Adirondack chair was in fact originally designed as an outdoor piece of furniture and was a very popular choice for cabins, lake retreats, and other recreational facilities. However, with wood prices continuing to escalate, quality-made plastic Adirondack chairs have become a very popular and logical alternative to the traditional wooden chairs.
